I said get ready to drink the moonshine. I made it kinda heavy so we don't waste time. Cuz we got soul records spinning rhythms while the party's playing air guitar. And my glass spills untimely...so hit me with a riverboat at the bar. I got pool water on my legs and they're makin' the moonlight tango, so come on, get ready. Tonight's White Russians came in all the way from the Milky Way, oooh and they taste so real. Now my mind's on you, and I ain't taking it off. If I'm able to I'll keep relatin' When we get through hesitatin' I'll be waitin' by Orion with my tails and my tuxedo on So keep on keepin' it cool baby, cuz we'll soon take flight through a star-studded night if the Angels will oblige ooooh Moonshine...

Well here we go again it's starting over, and I can't wait at all. A sun-lit sea-star constellation is rearranging to the night sky's form. And I didn't take it for much of anything but a window to my imagination. The nation that I rule. It's all around, it's everywhere. Well here it comes again it's taking over. The feeling's all around. It's devil's dust and we're trading it in for a beat-up ride that's got less miles. And I didn't take it for much of anything but a sidebar observation. My nation. Your patience is a virtue. And in my wasted conversation you walked in, and threw a side-long glance across me. The hesitation lasted only seconds then we all got up to dance like no one had a worry on their mind. I'm looking through you. And I wouldn't take that for much of anything. But a window… My nation. The nation that I rule. And in my wasted conversation you walked in, and threw a side-long glance across me. The hesitation lasted only seconds then we all got up to dance like no one had a worry on their mind. I’ll be there. You can find me there. My nation. I would not waste away my soul without a song. It’s my nation. So congregation, sing along. I would not waste away my soul without a song. It’s my nation. A celebration. So sing on.

I've got to tell you a tale of mine. Cursed by Stormy Weather and the Cloudy Nine. So let me tell you how I overcame (ok). It was after the rainfall And hurricane monsoons kept beckoning beyond the rise As if my steadfast disposition would wash away without a compromise. You gave it all to rest assured, but living ain't that easy no. Cuz the will of ways rests undeterred, despite all of our reasoning. So I walked on through the water and the canopy, to the sea. And the pure life's love overcame my old complacency. After the rainfall, it was after the rainfall And all that I could do was smile wider than the eyes' horizon view. As I watched the day awaken and start coloring the lines The wind it filled me in and carried me this message on the leaves: Said "you got it all around and all the time so you ought to get going getting’ on in kind".

Light bulbs, time and your hairline. Fading away. The color of your jeans, the distance between us. The dimming line of the horizon. I read about a man who had a master plan to make it to the afterlife. You got it. Fate fading now. He built himself a million lies and stacked them high until they scraped the sky, then they all came tumbling down. Fate tumbling down. We’re talking as your cigarette’s fading away. But the glowing embers of our stories will burn on til day. I knew this fella, sailed his ship around the world until he filled it all with gold. So loaded it sank down below. He dove so deep to save a treasure that he couldn’t keep. Now he’s gasping for air. Fate sinking slow. Dr. Philosopher poured his mind to quill and ink. He dried that oil well right on up. He wrote a thousand books by candlelight til they caught fire one night and burned his paper prison down. Ashes to ground. Heavy eyelids may take these tales from us tonight, but you and I will bring them back to life another day. Fading away.

Sometimes when I try, I seem to make it harder than it actually is to get things done. Well, the skies look like they're melting. You know, we're really at the whims of the weather. But I'm here now. A mid-morning exchange of the brown-bag variety. And there's only one thing it could be... Well, my memory has served me well but sometimes you got to let it go and remember what it's like to be wide-eyed again. Like you washed away the sand. Wide-eyed again. Take with you what you can. It's all waiting there outside your window. And over time you'll understand that we're all looking out from our own point of view. A sliver of the moon gets caught under my skin. A lazy afternoon 'neath canvas umbrellas. A smile that says it's all gonna play out like we planned. As hearts and palms collect the time on our hands again. When all the world is new. Wide-eyed again. Like a tall tale coming true. Ain't it amazing how we do all that we do? We rearrange the rainchecks falling through, while we're looking out. It's only for a little while so if you don't know now just try. 'Cuz waiting around on it again won't help you make up with your mind. It's a wager. Ain't written on no page of favors documenting how the world unwinds. But it's OK, cuz every single day we all come just a little bit undone.
